Position: Commercial Analyst – Investment Real Estate

Location: Sugar Land Branch

Salary: Commensurate with experience

General Summary

The position of Commercial Analyst – Investment Real Estate will play a vital role in the NewFirst commercial lending process, responsible for assisting with originations and analyzing new investment real estate loan requests, preparing and presenting credit memorandums, evaluating post funding performance, and marketing the real estate platform to investors, developers, and commercial real estate mortgage brokers. 

Minimum Level of Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business field, such as Accounting, Finance, or Economics, is preferred.  One to two years of financial analysis experience is preferred; however, qualified recent graduates will be considered. 

Interpersonal and Professional Competencies to include:

A strong work ethic, self-motivation, and an aptitude for critical thought and decision making.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desire to network with other industry professionals.
An ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
The ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize, and deal with changing deadlines with limited supervision.
Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).

Job Responsibilities

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Analyzing and underwriting new loan requests and assisting with new loan origination for our commercial real estate originations team based in our Sugar Land office.
Preparing Credit Memorandums for commercial real estate opportunities.
Structure and assist negotiations for new and renewing loan opportunities.
Complete due diligence and review all loan closing documents prior to funding with emphasis on loan agreement language and settlement statements.
Monitor and evaluate post funding performance and draw requests.
Assist with and manage outside sales opportunities.
Office and team administration to support all team functions as necessary.
Travel as needed.
Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with personnel of other departments and branches.
Performs other duties as assigned.


Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a normal work schedule of 8 am–5 pm Monday–Friday.
